TWILIGHT star ROBERT PATTINSON wants to star in a biopic of his favourite musician - Irish singer VAN MORRISON. Although no plans are on the table to take the Brown Eyed Girl hitmaker's story to the big screen, Robert Pattinson is desperate to put his name on the list if studio bosses ever pick up the idea.   He tells Moviefone, "I'd love to play Van Morrison, but I doubt I would get the part."

ROBIN WILLIAMS, RICKY GERVAIS and BEN STILLER are celebrating after their new film NIGHT AT THE MUSEUM: BATTLE OF THE SMITHSONIAN stormed straight to the top of the box office in its opening weekend (22-24May09). The comedians co-star with Amy Adams, Owen Wilson and Hank Azaria in the film, which took in $53.5 million over the Memorial Day weekend.   The win was a shock for movie reviewers, who insisted Terminator Salvation - the fourth movie in the sci-fi franchise - was poised to take the top spot after scooping more than $13 million on its first day of release. But the film came in at second with $43 million in earnings.   The new Star Trek movie followed at third, with nearly $22 million in earnings and now boasting a three-week total of $183.6 million.   Rounding out the top five are Tom Hanks' Angels & Demons and new comedy spoof Dance Flick, which took in $21.4 million and $11.1 million respectively.

BEN STILLER will take home the MTV Movie Awards' highest accolade at this year's (09) ceremony - he will receive the Generation Award for his laughter-packed Hollywood career. The Meet The Parents funnyman has been named as the recipient of the honour in recognition of giving cinema-goers some of the funniest characters of the last decade, including Zoolander, Gaylord Focker and Tugg Speedman.   Ben Stiller kicked off his career with his own MTV series in the early 1990s, which was subsequently cancelled after one season.   But the actor remembers his time at the channel fondly, even joking he romanced veteran MTV presenter J.J. Jackson.   He says, "I am honoured to be getting the Generation Award. I was given my first show at MTV and also cancelled for the first time. I also was secretly having an affair with J.J. HUGH JACKMAN will take his WOLVERINE movie to Mexico City on 26 May (09) after cancelling the film's original premiere date because of the outbreak of swine flu. The Aussie actor announced the news via his Twitter.com blog on Friday (22May09), admitting his thoughts and prayers have been with those battling swine flu in Mexico, where the pandemic reportedly started last month (Apr09).   As a result of the health crisis, film premieres and concerts were postponed - and the X-Men Origins: Wolverine movie screening next week will be the first rescheduled event.   In his 'tweet', Jackman writes, "I will bring Wolverine to Mexico City on May 26 to provide a moment of fun escapism and a treat for some of the loyal fans of the comic.   "My thoughts and prayers have been with all of those that have suffered directly or indirectly from the swine flu in Mexico."   After a brief government-mandated shutdown, cinemas, businesses, schools and other ...
