SELENA GOMEZ is turning fashion designer to launch an environmentally-friendly clothing line for girls.The actress has teamed up with Generra designer Tom Melillo and businesswoman Sandra Campos for the new venture, titled Dream Out Loud. Gomez tells WWD.com, "With my line, I really want to give the customer options on how they can put their own looks together. "I want the pieces that can be easy to dress up or down, and the fabrics being eco-friendly and organic are super important. Also, the tags will all have some of my inspirational quotes on them. I’m just looking to send a good message." The boho-chic collection, which will include dresses, tops, jeans, hats and scarves, is due to hit stores in autumn 2010.

Singer/actress SELENA GOMEZ aims to raise $1 million for the United Nations Children's Fund by the end of 2009.The Disney star was appointed an ambassador for the charity last month (Sep09) after lending her support to UNICEF in 2008. And Gomez hopes to use her celebrity to boost donations to the organization, which raises awareness for issues such as children's rights. SELENA GOMEZ has a very special souvenir to remember her recent trip to Africa as a new UNICEF ambassador - she was presented with a handmade traditional outfit from Ghanaian tribeswomen.The teenage singer/actress was appointed to the United Nations Children's Fund position last week (03Sep09) and flew out to Ghana on her first U.N. mission on Friday (04Sep09). She spent time in Tamale to learn about the organization's child survival programs and was such a hit with locals, she was gifted with her very own traditional garb to take back to her native America. Writing on her Twitter.com page, Gomez told fans, "Flew to Tamale, Ghana to visit kids who told us about how Unicef is helping them. Then I went to visit a tribe where the women gifted me with an outfit they hand made." Best pals SELENA GOMEZ and DEMI LOVATO ditched a glamorous film party to invade a high school prom in Canada on Thursday (18Jun09).   The two Disney stars were in Toronto celebrating the launch of her new TV movie Princess Protection Program when they decided to check out a prom at nearby Etobicoke Collegiate Institute.     Security guards allowed the 16 year olds to sneak into the event, where they mingled with stunned students, and even took to the dance floor to show off her moves.     Prom night came to an end for the teens at 11pm, however, after the party-crashers were asked to leave because they weren't students.     Gomez was still on a high after the event, writing on her Twitter.com blog: "PPP (Princess Protection Program) peeps and I crashed a prom tonight and danced with a highschool!! amazing!! I finally had prom!"
