JOHN MAYER is struggling to write any new songs now he's so famous - because his fans think they know him too well.The rocker has been thrust into the spotlight after his high profile relationships with Jessica Simpson and Jennifer Aniston. And the star feels as if he's fighting against writing lyrics on topics his fans may have preconceptions about - admitting he finds it hard to express himself the way he did before he became a tabloid favorite. Taking to his Twitter.com blog to air his concerns, John Mayer writes, "I find it hard to write lyrics like I used to. This is not because people know so much about me, but because of what they think they know. So I find myself trying to guess what they think they know and then trying to steer clear of it and find another way to explain myself. "The whole thing gets very tiresome and has led me to... write exactly like I used to."

JOHN MAYER has recorded a duet with pal ROB DYRDEK apologizing to the skateboarder-turned-reality TV star's mother for helping to fake a trip to the hospital earlier this summer (09).The pranksters sparked fears for Rob Dyrdek's heath when John Mayer was photographed carrying him out of a Los Angeles club in June (09) and helping him into a waiting car. John Mayer even updated his Twitter.com blog to inform fans he had taken Rob Dyrdek to the hospital to have his stomach pumped, adding, "When the contents of his stomach hit that silicon bag and we all saw it, we just broke into applause." The incident turned out to be part of an outlandish publicity stunt for Rob Dyrdek's MTV show Fantasy Factory - but it attracted the attention of his local news station back home in Ohio, which took the reports one step further and claimed Rob Dyrdek had died. JOHN MAYER made a lucky fan's 18th birthday complete at the weekend (16May09) by serenading her during a night out in Los Angeles. The rocker was dining with his brother and friends at sushi restaurant Katsuya Hollywood in L.A. on Saturday when a group of teenagers spotted him and "started swooning and screaming", according to People.com.   But when John Mayer discovered one of the starstruck fans was celebrating, he sang a chorus of Happy Birthday for the lucky lady - and even gave her a kiss on the cheek as an extra treat.

JENNIFER ANISTON's ex-boyfriend JOHN MAYER served up an Easter treat for Disney pop princess DEMI LOVATO via the Twitter.com social website after complimenting her LA LA LAND hit in a post. Mayer confessed he was a big fan of the tune and couldn't get it out of his head, calling the track "sophisticated" in a posting on Thursday (09Apr09).   And his positive critique really made Lovato's day.   She gushed, "That is quite possibly the best compliment I've received in this business. Thank you so, so much!"   That `tweet' prompted Mayer to respond, "You're going to make lots of records, I can tell. Write one song at a time and never, ever apologize for any of them, ever."   The teenager shot back, "That's exactly what I needed to hear today. If that's not inspiration, then I don't know what is."

JOHN MAYER and AMERICAN IDOL winner JORDIN SPARKS are to duet at an upcoming benefit concert. The duo will headline One Splendid Evening, a concert to raise funds for VH1's Save The Music Foundation, onboard cruise ship Carnival Splendor, docked at the Port of San Pedro in Los Angeles.   Gavin Rossdale and Sara Bareilles have also been lined up to perform.   Proceeds from the show will help restore instrumental music education in America’s public schools.   The morning after the floating gig, Mayer will set off on his second annual Mayercraft cruise.
