APL.DE.AP has flown to the flooded Philippines to stage a benefit concert and deliver aid to the storm-stricken residents.The Black Eyed Peas rapper, who is of Filipino ancestry, was shocked when he saw TV footage of the devastation caused by Typhoon Ketsana last month (Sep09). The storm dumped heavy rains on the country, triggering landslides which killed 712 people and caused more than $30 million in damage. Apl.de.ap - real name Allan Pineda Lindo - vowed to help, and flew to the Philippines to put on a charity show on Thursday (15Oct09) to raise money for the affected communities. The star staged a hip-hop gig, flying in artists from abroad and recruiting local musicians to entertain the crowd at the Skydome in Manila. He says, "It’s important for me to go back to help out. I donated money and also we bought a couple of boxes of food, canned goods and stuff like that. I just want to tell everybody that my heart goes out to you guys and I will try my best to help out."

will.i.am broke his foot as he ran from police - after he was caught defacing a bridge with spray paint.The BLACK EYED PEAS star suffered a bout of depression last year (08) and in a bid to make him feel uplifted, he headed out in his luxury car to graffiti some brickwork. But the spraying session was cut short when the hip-hop star was spotted by cops - and as he attempted to get away, he took a tumble. He says, "I went graffiti spraying in my Bentley. At the start of 2008 I was feeling depressed, so I decided to head to the freeway to tag (spray). "I stopped under a bridge on Route 101 and wrote ‘No’ in big letters using a can of black paint. I’d almost finished when two cops arrived. I broke out running across the freeway, tripped and broke my fifth metatarsal bone." Asked if there were any further repercussions from the incident, a representative of will.i.am's refused to comment.

U2 have paved the way for an unlikely pop pairing - the Irish rockers are to team up with the BLACK EYED PEAS for the American leg of their world tour.The With or Without You hitmakers kicked off their massive 360 tour in Barcelona, Spain earlier this month (Jul09) and when the group come to America in October (09) they will be supported by the Peas. And frontwoman Fergie admits she is scared to take the stage before the rock band, because the crowd might not be interested in their music. She says, "We're gonna have to work for it. The crowd are gonna have their arms folded at the start."

The BLACK EYED PEAS have been accused of copyright infringement - British DJ ADAM FREELAND has accused the group of lifting sections from one of his songs for a track on their latest album.Freeland claims the Black Eyed Peas used the beat from his track Mancry in Party All the Time, which features on The E.N.D. The star has taken to his Twitter.com page to express his outrage - alleging the Black Eyed Peas track sampled his work without permission. He writes, "OK. Check this. Listen to our song 'Mancry'. Now listen to Black Eyed Peas 'Party all the time'!" Although Freeland has yet to take legal action against the band, lawyers for both sides have been in contact, according to DailySwarm.com. Black Eyed Peas star will.i.am was previously mired in controversy over samples used in his solo work - in 2007 he was forced to drop an excerpt from Daft Punk's Around in the World from his I Got it From My Momma track by the French duo's lawyers.

 Not content with landing the top spots on both the U.S. album and singles charts, the BLACK EYED PEAS have achieved another major countdown feat after debuting their new track at number two on the Hot 100.   The group's Boom Boom Pow has scored a 10th week at the top of the charts and now I Gotta Feeling has debuted at number two, making the Peas the first duo or group since OutKast in 2004 to occupy the top two spots on the Hot 100.     Keri Hilson's Knock You Down stays put at three, Pitbull's I Know You Want Me (Calle Ocho) slides to four and Lady GaGa rounds out the new top five with her latest hit LoveGame. She also lands two tracks in the top 10 - Poker Face drops to seven.     Meanwhile, the Pet Shop Boys score their 25th top 10 on Billboard's Hot Dance Club chart - Love Etc. climbs to nine on the new countdown.     In Europe, Placebo's sixth studio album Battle For The Sun debuts at number one on Billboard's Europe...

BLACK EYED PEAS singer FERGIE drank wine while recording album track THE E.N.D. - so she could get into the party spirit. The Black Eyed Peas fifth studio album features the party-themed track Out Of My Head, which opens with Fergie slurring, "I'm so tipsy."   And Fergie was determined to stay true to the lyrics, forcing her bandmates to guzzle booze with her in the studio.   She explains, "This song reminds me of the fun character of (Black Eyed Peas' 2005 song) My Humps. I told Will we have to get some wine if I'm going to do this correctly. I'm not going to front on this song. So we all got a little tipsy."
