BEYONCE is reportedly set to testify in court as part of a legal battle with a man who alleges DESTINY'S CHILD claimed his song as their own.Singer/songwriter Rickey Allen fired a lawsuit at Beyonce's R&B girl group in 2006 over claims their 2004 track Cater 2 U was inspired by a song he composed with the same title, which he first copyrighted in the mid-1990s. Allen's song is about "relieving the stress of a significant other" and he insists even the lyrics in Destiny's Child's song are suspiciously similar to his. He claimed he handed over a version of his song to producer Maurice Joshua, who is said to have later worked with the Bootylicious hitmakers in the studio. Joshua maintains he never held a copy of the song. JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE has won a permanent restraining order against a woman accused of harassing him after declaring fears for his safety in court.The pop star was ordered to appear in a Los Angeles court on Monday (09Nov09) to personally testify against Karen McNeil in a bid to make permanent a temporary restraining order he received in October (09). TWILIGHT movie bosses are taking legal action against the publishers of an unauthorized fanzine - accusing them of using photos from the films without permission.Executives at Beckett media have released two issues of Twilight, part of the Beckett Teen Sensations series, which features images of the movie's stars, including Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart. But bosses at Summit Entertainment, the company behind the vampire series, have filed suit in a bid to shelve the publication. Papers filed at a federal court on Friday (06Nov09) allege editors at Beckett used promotional photos from the Twilight films without permission in a bid to fill the magazine. Lawyers for Summit Entertainment claim to have previously sent a cease and desist letter in a bid to stop publication, and are now demanding unspecified damages, according to TMZ.com.

FALL OUT BOY have decided to retire their cover version of MICHAEL JACKSON's BEAT IT as a sign of respect for the late King of Pop.The pop-punk band delighted fans when they began performing the hit live in concert, and in 2008, they teamed up with singer John Mayer to record the track, before filming a music video and releasing Beat It as a single. But bassist Pete Wentz insists they have no plans to play the song again, following Jackson's death in June (09). He tells MusicRadar.com, "We never got the chance to (meet) him. I don't even know if he heard it. We kind of recorded it on a whim, like, nine months before he passed away. We've decided not to play it anymore. It's his song, you know?
