So I promised you guys a while back that I'd post a blog about my most recent concert trip, so here you go for your enjoyment.
Our most recent adventure has been one to Rochester, NY. We had tickets to the Jonas/Hannah/Miley concert on December 16th. It just happened to be another one of those shows where there was pretty bad weather, making traveling conditions...not too great. We had heard there was going to be a blizzard in Rochester that day, but me and my sister, being oblivious to the true danger traveling would put us in, begged our mother to take us anyway.
Once we made sure the show was not being cancelled, we headed out for Rochester, which would usually be a three hour drive according to Mapquest.com. Well, let me just tell you something, it wasn't. We had to drive about 30 MPH the whole time because of the horrible weather, and witnessed probably about five car accidents occur right in front of us. The show was one of the few Jonas/Hannah/Miley shows that were at 4:00 so we figured the meet and greet would be at 2:45.
Well, we get to Rochester and the roads are empty except for the one road leading to the venue which was jam packed, and by that time it was already 2:45. Me and Katie were immediately upset, so we jump out of the car and run to the venue (we were about a block or two away). We get there and there is a mile-long line at will-call, so we have to wait to recieve our passes, and by the time we do, it was 3:00.
We were sure we had missed the meet and greet, but we decided to make an attempt to make it anyways. So we run over to the designated group meeting spot and no one was there. A security guard told us the group had already left to meet the Jonas Brothers a while ago, but another nice security guard took us to the meet and greet room and luckily we made it just in time! The meet and greet was just about over, but we made it.
We say our hello's and exchange hugs and such. Then we chatted for a tad about how bad the weather was. Apparently the venue called at 7:00 AM and informed them that the show was not cancelled. They also said (being the little sweeties they are) how worried they were about their fans safety, and how they had hoped everyone got to the show alright. Then we talk about Christmas or something and then we hug again and leave.
As always, the show was fantastic. Except for the fact that since the building was so small they couldn't have JB make their special grand enterance by coming down on a stage from the ceiling, which upset me very much. Though, halfway through JB's first set a mean security guy said we couldn't stand next to the barricade. Our seats were right next to it, but he said it was a "fire hazzard", but finally halfway through Hannah's set, he let us go back up.
After the show we make our way back home, in the bad weather, and that's pretty much it. That's really the only exciting thing in my life.
Just as a follow up, I am finished reading 'The Hobbit' and now I am being forced to read 'Great Expectations'...woo...what a party.
